Overview
Sideline shows your Sleeper fantasy football matchups on your iPhone Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, and in widgets. It works from public Sleeper data. There is no Sideline account, no password, and no analytics.
Sideline is made by GumDrop LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Sleeper.
What Sideline reads
When you enter a Sleeper username, Sideline asks Sleeper's public API for the leagues, rosters, matchups, and player information tied to that username. This is the same information anyone can see on Sleeper's public league pages. Sideline also reads NFL game schedules and live game status from public sports data feeds so it can tell which of your players have played.
What stays on your device
Your Sleeper username and user ID, the leagues you track, your preferences, and the cached matchup data used by the widgets are stored on your iPhone. Widgets and the Live Activity read this data through Apple's keychain, which keeps it inside Sideline. Signing out removes it.
What our server stores
To keep the Live Activity updated while the app is closed, Sideline sends a small record to a server run by GumDrop:
- Your Sleeper user ID and the IDs of the leagues you track
- Your Live Activity preferences (layout and auto-start timing)
- Whether Sideline Pro is unlocked
- Apple push tokens for your device and its Live Activities
During games the server checks Sleeper's public API on your behalf and asks Apple to update your Live Activity. The record is keyed by your Sleeper user ID. It contains no name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location, and it is never sold or shared for advertising. Push tokens expire when the Live Activity ends or when you delete the app.
What we never collect
No analytics, no tracking. Sideline does not include analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, or crash reporters beyond what Apple provides to every developer through the App Store. We may mention other GumDrop apps inside Sideline; those are our own, and no tracking is involved.
Purchases
Sideline Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app stores only whether Pro is unlocked, and you can restore it on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
Third parties
- Sleeper provides league data through its public API, under Sleeper's own terms and privacy policy.
- Apple delivers push notifications and Live Activity updates and processes in-app purchases.
- Vercel and Upstash host our server and its database.
Sideline does not use any third-party analytics, ad networks, or data-broker services.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my data. That removes everything stored on your device and deletes the record our server keeps for Live Activity updates. Signing out clears the device only. You can also email support@gumdrop.space with your Sleeper username and we will delete the server record for you.
Children's privacy
Sideline is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version here with an updated date.
